I was included in the direction the counselling took. I felt involved.
i am a carer for my mum & mother in law living in the same property, which became very overwhelming as i have also lost my dad in the last few weeks. obviously another stress. she helped me navigate my way off the edge of a shelf, get perspective and see a way forward. It's work in progress but life changing
Staff have all been very kind and helpful
A little bit like being in a classroom.
The help we are having is absolutely brilliant. The carers are so kind and considerate. Could not do more. They also see me, for which I am so grateful. Thank you.
Both mum and I were treated with respect and dignity. We were made to feel comfortable and at ease, able to ask any question. Most of all, we felt cared for and supported.
Good listener. Counsellor came up with the appropriate searching questions at the time, coming up with questions out of the box. Made to think on my feet, come up with suggestions and answers that I would not have identified.
The experience through my grieving process thus far with this counselling has been invaluable, it has helped me make sense of my feelings/emotions - I have felt confident in being able to talk openly and be listened to. I had lost my 'place of safety' when my husband passed away and it helped to understand this. It was also very helpful to me that the counsellor had met and counselled my husband during his terminal illness.
My life would be unbearable through pain after intense cancer treatment without the Katherine house team. The specialist Lymphedema nurses keep my pain and swelling under control and I rely on them heavily for my quality of life.
They are also exceptionally kind and caring, which makes everything less scary.
Excellent
Katharine House Hospice was awarded the iWantGreatCare certificate of excellence in 2024 for delivering outstanding care.
